A simple process with dates you can plan around.
A USAJOBS resume follows different rules from a private-sector resume. A strong civilian resume can still be screened out of a federal job.
Under OPM's Merit Hiring Plan, federal agencies only accept resumes up to two pages for Title 5 competitive and excepted service announcements, and since September 27, 2025, USAJOBS will not let you upload or build a resume longer than two pages. A resume longer than two pages makes you ineligible for further consideration, so a full military career has to fit in two pages.
USAJOBS tells applicants to use plain language and avoid acronyms and terms that are not easily understood, because the hiring agency will not make assumptions about what's in your resume. Your duties and results are rewritten in clear, civilian terms.
Your resume must show how you meet the qualifications and requirements in the job announcement, including specialized experience. USAJOBS advises tailoring your resume to each job and using the announcement's own terms. Federal Ready is tailored to one specific announcement.
Honest note: no resume writer can guarantee an interview, a referral or a job offer. Federal hiring decisions are made by the hiring agency. Always check the requirements in each announcement on USAJOBS.gov.
Nathan Bridges is a U.S. Army veteran based in Pooler, Georgia. He served in the Army from 1999 to 2005 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, as an Infantryman (11B) and a Fire Support Specialist (13F).
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He has more than fifteen years of experience in supplier quality engineering and management with major automotive manufacturers and suppliers, where he has led teams, managed new-model launches, and reported results to executive leadership.
Nathan made the move from military service to a civilian career himself, and he knows how hard it can be to put Army experience into words a hiring manager or a federal HR specialist will recognize. Years of writing reports and presenting to senior leaders in industry showed him how much clear, well-organized writing matters. He started Bridges Career Transition to help service members, veterans, and military spouses around Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield tell their own story clearly, one client at a time.
Transitioning service members, veterans and military spouses, especially at Fort Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield and in the Savannah, Pooler, Hinesville and Richmond Hill area. Work is done by email, so clients outside the area are welcome too.
A federal resume is written for a USAJOBS announcement. It shows that you meet the specialized experience and qualifications listed in that announcement, and it must be two pages or less. Federal agencies only accept resumes up to two pages, and USAJOBS will not accept a longer one. It also lists details such as month/year dates and hours worked per week for each job. A private-sector resume is shorter, focuses on results and is built for applicant tracking systems.
Usually, yes. Each announcement has its own specialized experience and keywords. Federal Ready covers one announcement, and each additional one is $75.
Your current resume (if you have one), recent evaluations (NCOERs/OERs or equivalent), awards, training and education, and the job posting or USAJOBS announcement you're targeting. Please remove Social Security numbers and anything classified or sensitive before sending.
The first draft takes 5 business days, or 7 for Full Mission, counted from when your intake and deposit are received. Rush service (+$100) gets you a first draft in 48 hours.
You get two rounds of revisions within 14 days of receiving your first draft. Final files are delivered by email in Word and PDF.
Services of $349 and up need a 50% deposit to start, with the balance due before final delivery. $199 services are paid in full up front. You can pay securely by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay, or bank transfer through a Stripe payment link, sent by email after your free quote. PayPal is available on request.
Refunds: you get a full refund if you cancel before work begins. Work begins when we start reviewing your intake materials. Once work begins, refunds are no longer available, but we'll still complete your order, including your first draft and 2 revision rounds within 14 days of it. See our Refund Policy.
Active duty, National Guard, Reserve, veterans and military spouses get 10% off. It can be combined with the launch offer (a free cover letter for the first 10 clients through December 31, 2026). Only one discount of any kind applies per order (e.g. the 10% military/spouse discount or a $25 referral credit), whichever saves you more. No documents are required; just tell us on the intake form.
No. No honest resume writer can. Hiring decisions are made by employers and federal agencies. Bridges Career Transition focuses on clear, accurate, well-tailored documents that represent your experience well.
